Picnic Party- The Essentials

Posted by Danielle Golding on 6th Jul 2018

With the warm weather set to stay we cannot wait to get all our family and friends together for a picnic party. Whether you choose to find a quiet spot near a lake, visit your local park or even go outside in your own back garden, we have all the bits and bobs you need to ensure you have a picnic party to remember.

1. Decor

Nothing says theres a party more than Balloons. They are a great way of adding a pop of colour to your garden party and are always a winner with children! Why not dress them up with tassles or ribbon for an even more eye catching look. They can be attached to fences, tied to chairs and even hung from your decking. Balloons are an easy way to style your outdoor space ready for your picnic party.

Bored of bunting? Another way to decorate your garden is using pretty paper lanterns, fairy lights or tissue paper hanging pom poms. You could get crafty and make your own or shop our fabulous range of paper lanterns. They add a wonderful whimsical feel to your garden.

2. Tableware

Of course you could just take your food outside in a carrier but where is the fun in that? Whether you are looking for a traditional gingham lined picnic basket or something slightly more modern. Choose a larger chunky wicker basket or a neat basket for two, we have something for everyone.

There's no need to compromise on style just because you are using paper plates and eating outside. We have a gorgeous collection of pretty party-ware that you and your guests will just love. Sticking with one theme will be much easier, you could mix and match bold colours, use a floral pattern or be on trend with tropical prints.

Finish off your look with fun cups and mugs, we love the trendy light bulb drinking glasses, they are a great alternative to a standard cocktail glass. Why not go all out and really impress your guests with the Kilner Glass drink dispenser? This way they can help themselves to drinks and you get more time to spend enjoying your guests company rather than playing the hostess.

3.Finishing Touches

Whether picnicking with adults or children, garden games are a hit with everyone. Create a fun little sports day and get your skipping rope out or have an egg and spoon race, you could even play a good old classic Hop Scotch.

As the day turns to night don't let that stop the fun! Flick on the string lights and switch on the lanterns to create a magical atmosphere that will see you enjoying yourselves right through into the late evening. Don't forget to light up a citronella candle to keep away those pesky insects. Whatever you choose it will really set the mood and look ever so inviting.

Hopefully this gorgeous weather lasts all summer long so we can have lots of fun and make some amazing memories!
